Connecting Claude or ChatGPT (MCP)
With Pro and an account, an AI assistant can read your library — and archive only if you allow it.
MCP lets an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT search and read your Clipmine library while you talk to it. It comes with Pro and needs a Clipmine account, so the assistant reaches the same library as your account — saves still only on your phone are not part of it.
Set it up
In the app, open Connections and choose Claude or ChatGPT. The guide shows the address to copy and each step in that app; you can read it on any plan. Setting it up is done in the assistant's website:
- Claude (web or desktop): Customize → Connectors → Add → Custom → Web, name it Clipmine and paste the address. In a Team or Enterprise workspace an owner adds it in Organization settings → Connectors.
- ChatGPT (web): turn on Developer mode in Settings → Security and login, then in Plugins choose +, name it Clipmine and paste the address. In a new chat, add Clipmine from the tools menu.
The assistant then opens a Clipmine page that names the app, your account and what it may do. Only Allow there connects it. Back in the app, Check connection says so only once the server has your permission.

What an assistant can do
- Search your saves, read one, list saves and collections, and fetch a save's files.
- Archive or move back to the Inbox, only if you allowed it when connecting.
- It can never delete anything, start an analysis or use your Ask allowance.
Not seeing the menu
Your Claude or ChatGPT plan, or your workspace's admin, decides whether you can add a connector; Clipmine Pro does not change those plans. Claude's and ChatGPT's own guides have the latest menus.
Removing access
In the app, open Connections, then the connected app, and Remove access. Each connection is removed on its own; the others keep working. You can also do it on https://clipmine.ai/connections. Removing a plugin inside ChatGPT or Claude does not always end Clipmine's permission — removing it in Clipmine does. If Pro ends, connected apps can't read your library until it is back; you can still see and remove them, without paying.
