Do I need an account?

No. You can save, read, ask and buy a plan without an account. Ordinary saves stay on this device. Only analysis you choose sends its source to Clipmine. Cloud Sync sends your library when you have Plus or Pro and an account, unless you turn it off on this phone.

When an account helps

• A new or second phone. With an account and Plus or Pro, Cloud Sync brings your synced library back on any phone you sign in to.
• Clipmine in other tools. Clipmine on the web (Plus and Pro) and AI assistants through MCP (Pro) need an account, so they reach the same synced library.

An account and a purchase are different

• Signing in connects your account. With Plus or Pro, Cloud Sync is on unless you turn it off on a phone. Signing in on Free does not upload this device’s library.
• Restore purchases brings back a plan you bought from the store. It doesn’t bring back a guest library that was never in an account.

You sign in with Apple or Google. Signing in never charges you and never starts a plan by itself.
