What Clipmine keeps, and where
On Free, your saves stay on this phone. Choosing analysis sends only that save to Clipmine, and Cloud Sync with Plus or Pro keeps your library in your account.
Where your saves are
On Free, ordinary saves and their files stay on this device. Choosing analysis sends only the selected save’s required content and files to Clipmine. With Plus or Pro and an account, Cloud Sync transfers your library automatically unless you turn it off on this phone. Signing in on Free does not upload or back up local-only saves. Copies already sent to Clipmine remain subject to the existing account deletion and export controls. Export a copy of local-only saves to keep them if this app is deleted or the device is lost.
On your phone
Your phone keeps your library — links, titles, your notes and the files you saved — so the Inbox opens at once and saving works offline. With Cloud Sync, a phone doesn't have to hold every original photo, video and file. Notification history is kept only on the phone.
On Clipmine's servers
A save you chose to analyse, with what analysis needs from it and what Clipmine made of it. Your Ask conversations. With Cloud Sync, your library and collections, kept in your account.
A save waiting to be sent
A save marked Waiting for connection is one you chose to analyse, or one Cloud Sync is sending, that hasn't reached Clipmine yet. Until Clipmine confirms it, it exists only on this phone, and nothing in your account backs it up. It goes by itself when you're back online. See A save is waiting or failed.
When a save is analysed
Analysis is a separate step. It happens when you ask, or on Plus or Pro when you turned on Analyze this save while saving. To understand a save, Clipmine sends what it needs — the page, the video's audio, the pictures or the file — to the services that read it, and keeps the result with the save. Ask sends the question and the parts of your saves it reads to the model that writes the answer. See Saving and analysis.
Your account
Signing in connects your account. With Plus or Pro, Cloud Sync brings your synced library back on another phone; signing in on Free doesn't upload this phone's library. A purchase restored from the store brings back a plan, not a guest library. See Do I need an account?
What we don't do
